Vahagn Haroutyunian, born on April 24, 1973, in Yerevan, Armenia, is a contemporary artist known for his striking and surrealistic works. His artistic journey began at the Shahumian Art Centre, where he studied from 1980 to 1989. He further honed his craft at the Yerevan College of Fine Arts after Panos Terlemezian, completing his studies there in 1993. Haroutyunian then graduated from the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts in 1999. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions both locally and internationally. Some notable exhibitions include the 1995 celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations in Yerevan, a 1997 exhibition in Tehran, and several shows in Carmel, California, throughout the mid-2000s. More recently, he has participated in the IAAF Art Antique Fair in Istanbul (2020 and 2021) and ARTANKARA in Ankara, Turkey (2022). Haroutyunian’s artwork is characterized by a blend of vivid imagery and dreamlike narratives, inviting viewers to engage with the stories embedded in his compositions.
